About the HexClad Cookware Class Action Settlement

HexClad Cookware appealed to health-conscious consumers by marketing its pots and pans as non-toxic. The company claimed its products were free from per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), “forever chemicals” known for their harmful effects on the environment and human health.

The problem? HexClad Cookware coated its pots and pans in polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), a PFAS commonly known as Teflon. This discovery was a huge blow to the many customers who paid a premium for the cookware, believing they were making a safe choice.

One Source to Market (HexClad’s parent company) claims it did nothing wrong but has agreed to a $2.5 million settlement. Consumers who purchased HexClad products between February 1, 2022, and March 31, 2024, may be eligible to claim a share.

Learn about eligibility requirements, qualifying HexClad products, important deadlines, and how to submit your claim today.

What is the Focus of the Lawsuit?

The class action lawsuit makes multiple serious allegations against HexClad Cookware, including:

  • Breach of Express and Implied Warranties: HexClad broke its promise to consumers by knowingly mispresenting products as free from PFAS.
  • Negligent Misrepresentation: HexClad claimed its cookware was non-toxic, metal-utensil safe, and free from harmful chemicals. The company knew or should have known these claims were false.
  • Failure to Warn: HexClad should have known its products posed a health risk but failed to alert consumers.
  • Unjust Enrichment: As unknowing consumers paid extra for the defective products, HexClad Cookware unfairly profited from its misleading claims.

The lawsuit further states that plaintiffs “would not have purchased the product or would have paid significantly less” for HexClad Cookware had they known it contained PFAS and other dangerous chemicals.

How Do I Submit a Claim?

Eligible consumers can file a claim online at the official HexClad settlement page. You will need:

  • Your Claim ID and PIN (found on the settlement notice email or postcard), or
  •  Your Amazon Order ID (if you purchase the product on Amazon.com)

If you don’t have either of these but believe you are a class member (or to request a paper claim form), you should contact the settlement administrator at [email protected] or 866-507-0323.

All claimants must list purchased HexClad products and the approximate purchase date. No proof is required for those claiming 1 or 2 eligible products; those claiming 3 or more products must provide a receipt or other proof of purchase.

How Much Will I Receive?

Pending final approval, eligible claimants should receive a pro rata (or equal) share of the net settlement fund, not to exceed the amount they paid for HexClad products.

Final payouts will depend on the total number of claims, the purchase price of eligible products, and the settlement amount remaining after lawyers’ fees and other administrative costs.
